WebSDR Usage Policy
Last updated: 22 August 2026
This WebSDR receiver is provided free of charge for the amateur radio and SWL (shortwave listening) community. Because only one listener can use the receiver at a time, the following rules keep access fair for everyone.
Access and session limits
- Only one user may connect to the receiver at a time.
- Each session is limited to 5 minutes. When your session ends, you will be disconnected automatically so the next listener can connect.
- If no one else is waiting, you may reconnect immediately for another session.
- Please do not use scripts, bots, or automated tools to hold or repeatedly reclaim the connection — this defeats the purpose of the time limit and will result in a ban.
Acceptable use
- The receiver is provided for listening to and monitoring the radio spectrum for legitimate, lawful purposes (monitoring, DXing, education, and similar amateur/SWL activities).
- You may change the center frequency while connected, but please be considerate of other users waiting their turn — avoid making rapid or disruptive changes purely to inconvenience others.
- Recording of received audio is permitted for personal, non-commercial use.
- The chat feature is available for friendly communication with other listeners. Keep it respectful — no harassment, spam, advertising, or offensive language.
Prohibited use
- Any illegal use, including but not limited to intercepting communications you are not legally authorized to receive in your jurisdiction.
- Attempting to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized control of the receiver or its configuration.
- Sharing recorded content in a way that violates applicable privacy or communications laws.
- Connecting with automated bots or scripted clients; such connections will be detected and banned.
No warranty
This receiver is offered on a best-effort, as-is basis with no guarantee of uptime, signal quality, or availability. The operator may change these limits, suspend access, or ban abusive users at any time without notice.
